Twenty percent of Earth's oxygen is produced by the Amazon forest.
Wow, I wonder how many % of oxygen is produced by Sabah's forest??!
The noble gas Xenon lasers can cut through materials that are so tough even diamond tipped blades will not cut.
Diamond is the hardest element man.. amazing huh..
Gold and Copper are the only two non-white metals.
really????
The burning sensation we get from chilli peppers is because of a chemical called Capsaicin.
hmmm... so this capsaicin is detected by all our taste buds ka?
The lighter was invented before the match (in 1816 by J.W. Dobereiner).
huh? Really.. so y v still need match when v have lighter???
Each time lightning strikes, some Ozone gas is produced, thus strengthening the Ozone Layer in the Earth's atmosphere.
God... send some lightning & thunder...
Honey does not spoil.
God's creation... x expiry date... wonderful...
There's enough gold in the Earth's crust to cover the entire land surface knee-deep.
I wonder where's all the gold now hahaha....

  7. A bee sting is acidic and a wasp sting is alkali. To treat a sting by one of these you should use the opposite type of chemical.
    >what the? so if i get stung by a bee means that i should get stung by wasp for the cure?now that's cranky!

  8. Jessel... U got the point!!!.. most importantly, one should know the difference between a bee and wasp haha...

    >so when u see a housefly...kill it...

Boron nitride (BN) is the second hardest substance known to man.

  11. another facts about chemistry..

Boron becomes liquid at 3,769 degrees Fahrenheit (2,076 degrees Celsius), and is so corrosive that it cannot be contained at all

The most ductile element is gold, which at one ounce it can be drawn to a length of 43 miles

Absolutely pure gold is so soft that it can be moulded with the hands

The sweetest chemical compound is sucronic acid

The only two elements named after women are curium (Marie Curie) and meitnerium (Lise Meitner)

Mercury is the only metal that is liquid at room temperature

It would require about 100 million (100,000,000) atoms to form a straight line one centimeter long

The lightest gas is hydrogen, it is also the lightest of all elements

The word "atom" comes from the Greek word atomos, meaning "uncut"

its amazing how much internet can give u knowledge n information...

  12. That's y people say the world is at ur fingertips :D
Hmm, cynthis, thx a lot 4 such those info...
I wonder if v all say atom is the the smallest thing.. as the Greek meaning uncut... wouldn't u all say sub-atomic particles like electron, proton & neutron r samller??? think about it...

  13. i knw some chemistry fact very funny o~
1.Chemical reactions occur all the time, including through everyday activities such as cooking. Try adding an acid such as vinegar to a base such as baking soda and see what happens!
means chemistry can make food taste more good
    erm~ yummy yummy
2.Athletes at the Olympic Games have to be careful how much coffee they drink. The caffeine in coffee is a banned substance because it can enhance performance. One or two cups are fine but they can go over the limit with more than five.
so if u want ur country win in olimpic, curi curi put some caffiene in their drinks haha

  14. well i dont have any fact to be shared here...but i have a Q to ask....This Q maybe related based on what we have learnt last friday....
1)can the mass of an element/atom changed????why???? but dont say that is God power....
2)why the mass of an atom/element is`x` but not `z`???
i just wonder if the mass can be changed..but i think if we can change the mass,it will benefit alot overmankind.....
